Swiggy, India’s leading food delivery platform, has introduced a novel feature called ‘Eatlists,’ designed to allow users to create and share food recommendations directly within the app. This initiative aims to simplify the process of discovering and sharing meal suggestions with friends and family.
In an effort to address the common dilemma of meal indecision, Swiggy has noted that 58 percent of its users face difficulty in choosing their meals, while 68 percent rely on recommendations from friends. The ‘Eatlists’ feature intends to streamline this process by consolidating food discovery, saving, and sharing within the Swiggy app.
New Features:
Centralized Favourites: Users can now create themed lists of their preferred dishes, making it easier to keep track of favorites.
Easy Sharing: ‘Eatlists’ can be shared with others to help them discover new dishes and restaurants.
Continuous Recommendations: Users can access lists created by other Swiggy users, providing more options and ideas for meals.
Rohit Kapoor, CEO of Food Marketplace at Swiggy, highlighted the communal nature of food with the new feature. He stated, “Before social media and other digital channels, food was the original form of community building. Eatlists bring the best of both worlds: the ability to create and share your food identity while discovering new favorite dishes through thousands of Eatlists curated by fellow food lovers and experts.”
How to Use Eatlists:
To create an Eatlist, users can tap the bookmark icon next to their favorite dishes and save them under different lists with personalized names such as “Weekend Treats” or “Healthy Bites.” Once curated, these lists can be shared via social media platforms like WhatsApp and Instagram. Additionally, users can explore Eatlists created by others, including themed lists like “Late-night Cravings in Mumbai” or “Top Street Foods in Delhi,” making the process of meal selection more social and engaging.
Swiggy’s ‘Eatlists’ feature promises to enhance the food ordering experience by making it easier to discover and share favorite meals, fostering a sense of community among food lovers.
