Meta has introduced verified subscription plans for businesses on Facebook and Instagram in India. The new offering, known as Meta Verified for businesses, was announced on Wednesday and promises a suite of benefits including a verified badge, enhanced account support, impersonation protection, and additional features aimed at improving discovery and connection for businesses.
The subscription plans start at an affordable Rs 639 per month for a single app, with an introductory discounted rate of up to Rs 21,000 per month for two apps. This launch is part of Meta’s strategy to provide businesses with increased flexibility and options, with four different subscription plans available to suit varying needs.
“Businesses have an option to either purchase Meta Verified for Facebook or Instagram or WhatsApp or do a bundled purchase for Facebook and Instagram,” the company said in a statement.
Currently, these subscription plans are available for purchase exclusively via iOS or Android for businesses on Facebook, Instagram, or WhatsApp.
Meta’s journey towards this comprehensive subscription service began last year with a small test to gauge how best to support businesses in achieving their goals through its apps. The initial test has since expanded from one subscription plan to four earlier this year. Last month, Meta extended the Meta Verified service to businesses on WhatsApp, further broadening its reach and utility.
The expanded Meta Verified business offering on Facebook and Instagram includes not only the verified badge but also enhanced account support and impersonation protection, providing a robust toolkit for businesses to enhance their online presence and security.
