Defense Tech Startup Sharang Shakti Secures Rs 5 Crore in Pre-Seed Funding Round

Gurugram-based defense robotics startup Sharang Shakti has raised Rs 5 crore in a pre-seed funding round, co-led by AUM Ventures and Venture Highway, with participation from JK Group’s Family Office and other angel investors. The funds will primarily be used for product development and team expansion, according to the company’s press release.

Founded in 2023 by Karan Goyal, Chirag Singla, Jitendra Singh, Gaurav Kumar, and Rishabh Choudhary, Sharang Shakti aims to pioneer innovations in airspace surveillance and airborne threat mitigation. The startup is currently developing an advanced anti-drone system designed to detect, track, and neutralize hostile drones—marking the first of several cutting-edge products in its development pipeline.

Sharang Shakti’s vision is to create a comprehensive technology stack, enabling the development of a wide range of robotic systems tailored for defense applications. The company aspires to establish India’s own version of Lockheed Martin, aiming to position itself as a leader in next-generation defense technologies.

This funding announcement coincides with broader efforts to bolster India’s defense technology ecosystem. Earlier this month, Indusbridge Ventures, a defense technology-focused company, collaborated with U.S.-based deep-tech venture builder FedTech to launch the ‘I2A Launchpad’ program, designed to support Indian dual-use startups in defense and commercial sectors.
