Astrotalk Appoints Former Google Executive Siddharth Prakash Singh as CTO to Drive Technological Innovations

Astrotalk, the popular online astrology platform, has appointed Siddharth Prakash Singh as its first Chief Technology Officer (CTO), marking a significant step in the company’s growth strategy. This development was confirmed to Inc42, signaling the platform’s commitment to leveraging advanced technology to enhance user experience and infrastructure.

With over 14 years of experience at leading tech firms, including Google and Adobe, Singh brings expertise in scaling and optimizing technology products. He will work closely with Astrotalk founders Puneet Gupta and Anmol Jain to drive key initiatives, including building a robust infrastructure to support Astrotalk’s expanding user base both in India and internationally.

In his new role, Singh will focus on enhancing the platform’s AI/ML capabilities, improving customer-astrologer matching, and implementing personalization features for a more tailored user experience. His responsibilities will also include preparing the platform for an eventual IPO and expanding into new business verticals, such as e-commerce and the spiritual and devotion industry.

Confirming Singh’s appointment, Astrotalk founder and CEO Puneet Gupta shared his excitement about bringing Singh on board: “We were always looking for a leader in tech with experience in leading products at scale. Having someone like Siddharth, who has seen a much larger scale in his career with tech giants like Google and Adobe, is the best thing that has happened to us. As we are scaling rapidly, we need the best tech infrastructure and it can only be done if you have a strong leadership team. I am very excited to work with Siddharth and look forward to learning a lot from him.”

Astrotalk’s appointment of Singh follows its recent INR 110 crore funding round aimed at expanding product offerings and developing support for regional languages. Earlier this year, the platform also raised $20 million in a Series A funding round led by New York-based venture capital firm Left Lane Capital.

Founded in 2017 by Puneet Gupta and Anmol Jain, Astrotalk has rapidly established itself as a market leader in online astrology services, earning 90% of its revenue through consultations. In the last fiscal year, the company reported a 16-fold increase in profits, reaching INR 100 crore in FY24, up from INR 8.4 crore in FY23. Operating revenue also saw significant growth, doubling from INR 282 crore to INR 659 crore.

Currently, Astrotalk boasts a user base of over 70 million, with 12-14 lakh daily active users. The platform is backed by Left Lane Capital, Elev8 Ventures, and has raised over $34 million to date, positioning it competitively alongside other major players in the online astrology space, including AppForBharat, Astroyogi, InstaAstro, and Meloha.
