Siddaganga Incubation Foundation (SIF) is a section 8 non-profit entity located at Siddaganga Institute of Technology, Tumakuru, Karnataka. It is supported by NSTEDB, under NIDHI i-TBI Scheme, Department of Science and Technology and Startup India Seed Fund Scheme, by Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, Govt. of India.
SIF launched in the year 2019, operates with a primary focus on Agri Tech & allied areas. Healthcare life sciences, IOT, AI & ML, and Rural Entrepreneurship Development for nation-building to nurture startup culture and addresses challenges in rural India using technologies. It provides a supportive platform for entrepreneurs striving to make a meaningful impact on rural communities.
Many flagship programs were organized:
2020: Launched “Innovation to Transform Rural India Program”
2021: “Entrepreneurship Programme focussing girl students”
2022: SIF reached out to about 3000 aspiring entrepreneurs by organising the National Conference on Science and Technology for startups – supported by KSTA, GoK.
2023: With the continuous effort of spreading entrepreneurship, SIF had reached its first milestone by getting recognition from NSTEDB, DST, Govt. of India with a grant of Rupees Five crore for three years of operations to support 30 startups in the area of Agritech and it seeded the path for launching “Agritech Ignite Grant Program ”
2024: It also got recognition by Startup India, DPIIT to invest in the early startups working in the areas Agri Tech & allied areas, Social Impact, Healthcare life sciences, IOT, AI & ML.
Siddaganga Incubation Foundation has incubated 21 startups, 15 partnerships were established, around 90+ jobs were created by the startups and a gamut of over 70 events organised.
SIF goal is to foster innovations by converting technological ideas into successful commercial products, create viable business models and become the leader in incubation space.
AgriTech Ignite Grant Program is suitable for early- mid stage agricultural start-ups. The program offers grant support, live field testing/ pilot trials, personalized mentoring, and guidance for developing business models and technology/products, access to labs, physical incubation space, team management, scaling up strategy and connections with customers and investors. Start-ups can test products in real-time and transform innovative ideas into scalable businesses. The program is supported by the NIDHI-iTBI scheme of the Department of Science and Technology, India.
The Spark Pre-Incubation is an intense 12-week program designed for students, startups, and aspiring entrepreneurs.The program helps participants validate their ideas, identify potential customers, develop business models, excel in grant writing and pitch preparations, and provides support in product development with mentoring.
