Kae Capital Appoints Abhishek Srivastava and Elevates Gaurav Chaturvedi as General Partners

Mumbai-based early-stage venture capital firm, Kae Capital, announced the appointment of Abhishek Srivastava as its new general partner on Tuesday. The firm also elevated Gaurav Chaturvedi, who has been with Kae Capital since 2018, to the same role.

Abhishek Srivastava brings a wealth of experience to Kae Capital, having previously served as the founding partner at Endiya Partners, a VC firm focused on early-stage investments. His career also includes a significant role as a principal at Ventureast, another early-stage venture capital firm. Srivastava’s extensive background includes board roles in various startups, particularly in the enterprise, software-as-a-service (SaaS), emerging tech, and consumer tech sectors. Among his notable investments are Mylo, Altiushub, and Knit.

Gaurav Chaturvedi, who has been a key player at Kae Capital for the past several years, specializes in investing in enterprise software and business-to-business (B2B) startups. As a general partner, Chaturvedi will continue to lead new investments, manage the firm’s portfolio, and drive its strategic vision. His portfolio of successful investments includes Zetwerk, Disprz, Hiver, SuperAGI, Hatica, and Zyla Healthcare.

Kae Capital, which was founded in 2012, is a sector-agnostic pre-seed fund with a strong focus on SaaS, fintech, and direct-to-consumer (D2C) brands. The firm manages approximately $250 million in capital and has invested in more than 85 startups. Some of its prominent investments include omnichannel nutrition retailer HealthKart, logistics firm Porter, gaming firm Nazara Technologies, contract manufacturing startup Zetwerk, online pharmacy platform Tata 1mg, and gold loan startup Rupeek.

“We are delighted to announce the appointment of Abhishek Srivastava as a general partner at Kae. His extensive experience and deep understanding of the startup ecosystem will be invaluable as we continue to build and support innovative companies,” said Sasha Mirchandani, managing partner of Kae Capital. “Gaurav has been an integral part of Kae and has contributed immensely to our growth over the past few years. His elevation to general partner is a testament to his dedication and success in driving our investment strategy.”

In recent years, Kae Capital has demonstrated its robust presence in the early-stage venture capital space. Last year, the firm raised Rs 410 crore for its Winners Fund II, which is aimed at investing in 20 portfolio companies. Additionally, in 2022, Kae Capital announced the final close of its third fund at Rs 767 crore, attracting prominent international and domestic institutional investors, including Old Mutual Wealth, Velo Partners, Finext, HDFC Holdings, Sidbi, and several entrepreneurs.
