KIBI Sports Raises $100,000 to Transform India’s Sports Industry

KIBI Sports, a startup dedicated to solving critical challenges within the industry, has successfully raised $100,000 in funding from angel investors. This funding highlights the startup’s commitment to creating sustainable opportunities for athletes, brands, and institutions, aiming to redefine the sports landscape in the country.

Founded by Sagar Rai, a former national-level athlete who competed in five different sports, KIBI Sports addresses pressing issues such as the lack of financial support and professional opportunities for athletes. Sharing his vision, Sagar Rai stated: “Our vision is to create a sustainable sports ecosystem where athletes, brands, and institutions can thrive together. KIBI Sports is here to transform the way the sports industry operates by offering scalable and effective solutions.”

The funding round saw participation from prominent angel investors, including Saurabh Aggarwal, Arpit Bhardwaj, Vartika Joshi, Suryansh Jain, Pranjal Bansal, Amit Kumar Sahu, Pratibha Rani, and Sushila. Their backing underscores confidence in KIBI Sports’ innovative approach and its potential to deliver impactful solutions across the industry.

KIBI Sports operates through three core revenue streams:

Digital Marketplace – A seamless platform for buying and selling sports equipment and merchandise.

Sponsorship Hub – Connecting athletes and institutions with brands for sponsorship opportunities.

Event Management Solutions – Streamlined systems for sports event registration and booking.

The platform focuses on bridging gaps in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities, enhancing visibility for underrepresented sports, and fostering inclusivity within the ecosystem. With over 20,000 athletes and 800 sports institutions already onboarded, KIBI Sports has also facilitated multiple sponsorship deals, showcasing its growing influence in the sector.

The newly raised funds will be used to scale operations, enhance technology, and expand the platform’s reach to a broader audience. As India’s sports industry is projected to reach $100 billion by 2027, KIBI Sports is well-positioned to capitalize on this growth and drive transformative change.

Sagar Rai’s journey from athlete to entrepreneur has been pivotal in shaping KIBI Sports’ mission. His first-hand experience and understanding of the challenges within the sports ecosystem have been instrumental in building a platform that delivers real value to its stakeholders.

This funding marks a significant milestone for KIBI Sports, paving the way for innovation, collaboration, and impact within the industry. With its strategic approach and unwavering commitment, KIBI Sports is poised to inspire a new era for the sports startup ecosystem in India.
