Lifechart’s Guttify Secures $360K from Unichem Labs’ Family Office, Eyes Affordable Gut Health Revolution in India

Lifechart, a health-tech startup championing gut wellness, has announced the successful closure of a $360,000 extended seed round for its flagship brand Guttify. The round was led by Prajay Advisors, the family office of Unichem Labs founders Prakash Mody and Jayendra Shah, marking a significant vote of confidence in the brand’s science-first approach to solving India’s gut health crisis.

This fresh capital raise comes on the heels of Guttify’s $500,000 seed round in October 2024, backed by a stellar lineup of investors including Expert Dojo, Agility Ventures, Sunn91 Ventures, various government seed schemes, and renowned angels such as Nitish Mittersain and Ahana Gautam. With this round, Lifechart’s total funding now exceeds $1 million, further solidifying its position in India’s burgeoning gut wellness landscape.

Co-founded in 2022 by Mukul Shah and Mansi Sharma, Guttify is designed to serve India’s growing urban population, especially in tier I and III cities. With a mission to “empower every Indian with accessible, accurate, and personalized gut health solutions—grounded in science, enabled by technology, and inspired by Ayurveda”, Guttify is at the forefront of merging traditional wellness practices with modern diagnostics.

The startup adopts a diagnosis-first approach and has launched a line of DIY at-home gut testing kits, starting with a pH saliva testing kit for acidity, already available in the market. More products priced as low as Rs 99 are set to be launched in the coming months, making preventive gut care truly affordable and accessible.

Guttify is building a full-stack, science-backed gut wellness ecosystem that addresses the urgent digestive health crisis in India. According to market research, the gut wellness market in India is valued at $18 billion, with over 60% of the population suffering from digestive issues—highlighting the massive need for early diagnosis and personalized interventions.

The extended seed funding will help Guttify scale its diagnostics product line, enhance R&D for integrated gut wellness solutions, and expand its geographical reach.

With deep roots in healthcare through its backers and a mission aligned with both modern science and ancient wellness practices, Guttify is poised to redefine how Indians approach gut health—starting with awareness, diagnosis, and cost-effective interventions.
