Hyperlocal delivery startup Magicpin has announced that it is now clocking 1.5 lakh daily food and logistics orders on the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC), a major achievement for the company since its debut on the state-backed platform in March 2023.
In a statement, Magicpin highlighted the impressive growth of its operations, reporting a 1500X surge in the number of orders in just 16 months—from 100 orders per day in May 2023 to 1.5 lakh daily orders at the end of September 2024. The startup also noted that its restaurant base had expanded to 70,000 by September 2024, compared to 22,000 when it first joined ONDC.
“In the last 15 months, we have touched double-digit market share in major cities, with more than 10% market share in key markets like Delhi or Bengaluru in terms of overall food delivery. At the same time, we are thrilled with magicpin’s success on ONDC, where we have reached 1.5 Lakh daily orders for food delivery and logistics on the network,” said Magicpin cofounder and CEO Anshoo Sharma.
Sharma also pointed out that Magicpin fulfills 90% of its food orders through major buyer apps such as Paytm, Tata Neu, and Ola. The company is now focused on further expanding its reach by onboarding 1 lakh new restaurants and cloud kitchens to the ONDC platform. “We offer a great assortment, demand-side integration, and competitive price points that benefit both customers and merchants alike,” he added, explaining Magicpin’s unique selling proposition.
Founded in 2015 by Sharma and Brij Bhushan, Magicpin initially started as a platform for restaurant discovery and user savings. Since then, the company has evolved into one of the first platforms to join ONDC, supporting sellers and restaurants in adopting the open protocol.
Earlier this year, Magicpin announced its plan to invest INR 100 crore to expand its presence on ONDC. The company is offering incentives such as zero commission and free home delivery for customers to attract more users to its platform.
In addition to its food delivery operations, Magicpin has also ventured into logistics aggregation. In March 2024, the company launched a new vertical called Velocity, catering to brands such as KFC, Burger King, and IGP.
