Newmi Care, a wellness startup focused on providing healthcare solutions for women, has successfully raised $1.5 Mn (approximately INR 12.6 Cr) in a seed funding round led by Sprout Venture Partners. Other participants in the round include a family office, LetsVenture, Sarcha Advisors, Key Ventures Forum, and several angel investors.
Founded in May 2022 by Sanchit Agarwal and Aditi Mittal, Newmi Care aims to simplify outpatient care for women while offering wellness products such as PCOS tea, supplements, menstrual cups, and maternity clothing. The startup is now planning to use the funds to expand its women’s clinics across northern and western India, improve its technology and product innovation, and grow its team.
“We are on a mission to simplify outpatient care for women in India and bring women health to forefront. This capital infusion is a step to move closer to our path to solve for women health at scale in India,” said co-founder Sanchit Agarwal.
Newmi Care has provided medical care to over 60,000 women in more than 400 cities across India, addressing various health concerns such as menstrual, sexual, and hormonal health, fertility and maternity, menopause, and cancers related to women’s reproductive organs.
The startup’s seed funding comes at a time when the digital wellness sector is witnessing significant interest from investors. Similar startups in the femtech space have also attracted funds recently. In August, Gurugram-based Laiqa Wellness secured INR 15 Cr ($1.8 Mn) in seed funding from IvyCap Ventures, while in July, direct-to-consumer wellness brand Hoop raised an undisclosed amount from Olympian PV Sindhu as part of Peak XV Partners’ Sequoia Spark fellowship programme.
With the fresh capital infusion, Newmi Care is set to enhance its product portfolio and expand its healthcare services, with a focus on scaling operations to meet the growing demand for women-centric healthcare solutions in India.
