Quidich Innovation Labs, a leading sports broadcasting technology startup, has announced the successful completion of a funding round led by Centre Court Capital. The venture capital firm, focused on sports tech and gaming and backed by the Sajjan Jindal Family Trust, has invested an undisclosed amount to support Quidich’s ambitious growth plans.
The fresh capital will be utilized to extend Quidich’s technological solutions across new sports and geographies, while further enhancing its already robust technology stack. “Once we got into sports, our entire focus has been on building layers of technology using artificial intelligence, computer vision, and the power of game engines to be able to build very interesting storytelling tools and applications for broadcast,” said Rahat Kulshreshtha, cofounder of Quidich.
Founded in 2013 by Rahat Kulshreshtha and Gaurav Mehta, Quidich initially operated as a drone startup. However, in 2019, the company pivoted to focus on enhancing live sports broadcasting through advanced technological solutions, including specialized camera systems, computer vision, and augmented reality. This strategic shift has positioned Quidich as a significant player in the sports broadcasting industry.
Quidich has established partnerships with prestigious clients such as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), International Cricket Council (ICC), Sky Sports and Sunset+Vine in the United Kingdom, Channel 7 in Australia, and SuperSport in South Africa, among others. The company has also expanded its international presence with new offices in London and the United Arab Emirates.
The investment comes from Centre Court Capital’s Rs 350 crore fund launched last month.
