Delhi-based deep-tech smart mobility startup, Six Sense Mobility, has raised ₹6 crore in a seed funding round led by Piper Serica VC, a prominent angel investment firm based in Mumbai. The company, co-founded by Sumit Roy, Kapil Rao, and Narendra Kumar Verma, had earlier received funding from Saurabh Nayyar of Docbel Group.
The newly acquired funds will be utilized to expand the company’s team, build production capacity, and invest in research and development of vehicle safety technologies.
“We are about 1.5 years old but have made great progress in bringing our technology from the R&D phase to commercialization while keeping it entirely indigenous and controlling the entire value chain of the tech, from design and development to manufacturing. We already have multiple clients in the automotive domain, which include 2-wheelers, 3-wheelers, and even large commercial vehicles in both EV and IC engine domains,” said Sumit Roy, founder of Six Sense Mobility.
Six Sense Mobility has made strides in the automotive sector with its proprietary technologies, designed for various applications in vehicle safety, security, and maintenance. The company’s crash detection technology stands out for its ability to detect collisions, assess impact, and dispatch emergency SOS services by accurately pinpointing the location of an accident. This technology has the potential to save lives by significantly reducing response times in emergencies.
In addition to safety, the company offers advanced tracking and immobilization technology. This system communicates with multiple satellite networks, including the US-owned GPS satellites, China’s BeiDou, Russia’s GLONASS, and India’s NAVIC, ensuring comprehensive and precise tracking and remote immobilization capabilities.
Further enhancing its offerings, Six Sense Mobility has developed an advanced diagnostics and analytics system. Leveraging AI and machine learning, this system can remotely diagnose vehicle issues with high accuracy and even predict potential malfunctions.
“Six Sense is one of the few companies in the telematics space that are 5G ready with a very strong customer traction. Satellite-based tolling system, connected cars, efficient logistics, pay-as-you-go insurance all require strong telemetry technology and Six Sense devices are already seeing strong adoption across these customers. We at Piper Serica are excited to back this deeptech company having a great founding team and a strong customer traction,” said Ajay Modi, Director of Investments at Piper Serica Angel Fund.
The company is poised for rapid expansion in both Indian and international markets, with the connected cars market expected to surge from $75 billion to $165 billion by 2029.
Six Sense Mobility is optimistic about its role in supporting India’s push towards advanced mobility and transportation technologies. For example, the government’s new GPS-based tolling system will rely on intelligent technologies like those developed by Six Sense Mobility to ensure successful implementation.
